Finale

As soon as Abigail recovered from her tiring couple of days, she went to the pharmacy to pick up her meds. With these meds and weekly therapy sessions, she continued to get better. Her life completely takes off. Her friends support her during every good and bad day and soon enough, she finds a good guy for her love interest. Since she has control over her schizophrenia, Lucy and Evelyn have ceased to appear, which makes Abigail happy about her life. She finishes high school without serious problems and continues onto college. Finally, she meets a nice guy who understands her issues and continues to help her along the way. With time, they settle down and have a family.

Everything seems fine but soon enough, her and her husband start to have problems. Because of jealousy, he begins to accuse her of cheating. She promises she hasn’t but blames her schizophrenia for not remembering if she has or not. Along with this issue, money is tight around her house so she sacrifices her meds to save money to pay the bills. She handles her life without them for awhile but then she starts getting those troublesome headaches and ends up blacking out multiple times. Since there are some many other problems in the house, she elects to keep these symptoms to herself.
One night, Abigail and her husband got into a huge fight about money and her supposed cheating.  Abigail is finally fed up with it and leaves the house. She visits a close bar to simply relax a little. Suddenly, a cute guy comes up and starts flirting with her. Since her meds hadn’t been in her system in a while, Evelyn made an appearance. Consequently, she ends up sleeping with him and returns home the next morning. Her husband had been waiting for her all night and during that time, his anger had built up tremendously. They continued the fight from the night before. The anger and hostility had built tremendously and the fight had turned physical. Before abigial had time to run away again, her husband had grabbed a kitchen knife. He grabbed abigial and started stabbing with no remorse. The kids called the ambulance and before abigial had reached the hospital, she was no longer with the people who hurt her. She was with a new crowd of angles that would always protect her.

A Prime Number

The next morning, Abigail woke up with the sexy outfit from the night before alongside a text from her love interest describing his appreciation for her late night visit. Once again, Abigail had no idea of what was happening, so she flew down the stairs three at a time. She thought, “I really need some help. This is one time where I am depending on my parents help. God, please let them help me!!” Once she reaches her parents at the kitchen table, she explains everything. Everything from the comments made at lunch to her headaches to her waking up in random places. Her mom and dad try to calm her down to a stable state. Her mother then decides to have a serious talk with her and excuses her father from the room.
“Abigail, honey. Sadly, I have been hiding some really important stuff from you. I know it isn’t fair but I was just trying to protect you. And I know that you think I have no idea what you’re feeling right now but I do. To explain myself, I have a couple of things to tell you. First, honey you’re…. schizophrenic. You always have been but the past years have let major symptoms show and you have been really bad.”
“What??.....” Abigail’s brow furrowed. She couldn’t wrap her head around the issue.
“I know this is a lot to take in but I have more. I am exactly like you. I am a schizophrenic too but I am controlled because I am on medication…heavy medication in fact. And like you, it got worse with my uncle who molested me. When I was younger, I had no idea how to handle it but my different personalities let me escape reality into a happier and warmer place. I was ignorant to all of your symptoms because I thought since I had provided you a good life, you couldn’t be schizophrenic.” At this point, her mother started sobbing uncontrollably. Abigail just sat there stoned. She couldn’t move or console her mother. She couldn’t handle the information given to her. She didn’t realize she had sat there for hours until her therapist cam apologizing to her father for being three hours late.
Abigial continued to be in this trance when the therapist had his final session with Abigail. By hypnosis, he brought out Lucy and Evelyn to talk with Abigail.
“Hey Abby!! Its Lucy. I was here cuz I wanted you to remember the times before nasty uncle cuz that was the best times. You were pretty happy then! I hope I helped you!”
“Hi Abigail. Its Evelyn. I was basically your confidence booster. All you did was sit and mope so I actually got your butt out of the house and talking to guys. Some may say I had a slutty approach but hey. It worked. Maybe you can continue this confidence but tone down how many guys you have slept with.”
In her trance, Abigail talked with her personalities and thanked them for their efforts. She was happy she finally figured out what was happening to her. Her therapist brought her out of the trance. From then, Abigail felt better, more complete. Her doctor didn’t promise a permanent fix but promised medications could help.

A Dream Vacation

Abigail’s mind was numb. She couldn’t believe her ears. News of her uncle’s death could’ve helped her cope with issues instead of her suffering and just hoping something bad had happened. After the shock faded, Abigail smiled with relief because the only person that caused her pain would forever stop being a problem.

Abigail and her party went back inside and finished dinner. From that point on, everything continued as normal. Abigail continued to improve the relationship with her parents and her social life kept improving, with the addition of a new love interest. Abigail would think to herself,” I am finally becoming normal. I have good friends and maybe eventually, this love interest will turn into a boyfriend. I am finally living the life I always dreamed of.”
During lunch one day at school, Abigail and her friends continued their usual banter.
One of her friends commented,” Abigail, you and Mr. McDreamy sound like you’re getting closer! Did yall hang out recently?”
“Yes…” Abigail responded shyly. “The only problem is that the times we do hang out, he seems very…. sexually motivated. I don’t know maybe I am just overanalyzing but it seems he just wants sex.”
One of the girls sitting at the table snottily responded, “I don’t see how he is attracted to you with all that little girl clothing recently.” Surprisingly, all of her friends agreed. Since they were actually friends, they didn’t say anything negative but they did find it weird.
Abigail had no idea what these girls were talking about. That girl was a little stuck up and jealous of everyone’s happiness but her friends agreeing did make her wonder. Still, Abigail decided to pay no attention to the comments.
After school, Abigail went home to find her mother organizing and cleaning the house. They exchanged hello’s and talked about their day. Her mother had another comment about her dressing attire. When Abigail went to hang out with her love interest the night before, her mother called her outfit “fit for sluts.” She had no recollection of this outing because she remembered going to bed with a headache the night before. Again, she decided her family and friends were crazy and got ready for dinner.
At dinner, the idea of a vacation came up. Abigail offered Miami as a place but her mom was completely against it.
“HELL NO! MIAMI IS DIRTY AND FIT FOR SCUMS. UGH!! MIAMI.” Abigail’s mom screamed as she left the dinner table. Abigail and her father were really confused and had no idea how to react. Her father checks on her mother and Abigail returns to her room to do homework.
The day’s events had started to worry her. She couldn’t understand why people remembered pieces of time that she didn’t. She wanted to talk to her parents about it but decided not to bother them with such information. Just then, Abigail was distracted by a racy text from her love interest asking her over to his home. From that point, Evelyn took over and the most fun she had had in awhile.

A Birthday Surprise

Weeks later, Abigail’s relationship with her mother had consistently improved. They always talked and her mother had made enough time to cook dinner every night. Abigail had returned to school by that time and all of her classmates were worried about her since they heard about the beating and kidnapping. She had even made some friends during her return, which made Abigail feel optimistic about her future. Months later, on her birthday night, Abigail got into the car to drive to her last present. At school, Abigail had received small things from her friends and her new friends had become really close making Abigail extremely happy and consequently Evelyn and Lucy had not come out since the beating.

Abigail and her parents finally arrived at her last birthday present, a surprise birthday party at a super fancy restaurant right outside of town. All of her friends and family were there, arms filled with presents. Abigail was pleasantly surprised and couldn’t believe all these people had come together simply for her. She was ecstatic, especially since her uncle was nowhere to be seen. Her and her family and friends sat around the table all night long. Since she had gotten so wrapped up in the excitement, she had forgotten her jacket in the car. She excused herself from the table and walk out the restaurant door. As she was walking out the door, there was a girl, Clara Kate Abigail believed, that looked scared of the door. Abigail thought the pause and absent facial expression was odd but decided nothing of it and continued her walk to the car.

As she locks the car doors back up, she turns around and sees her uncle in a drunken mess. Obviously, he hasn’t showered for days and he smells like an awful odor. He comes up to her but without the usual aggressiveness.

“Happy Birthday beautiful. I am sorry I can’t come and celebrate it with you.” her uncle said.

“Well I am not sorry. Ever since you have been gone, my life has been great. You know the cops have been looking for you and once I tell them you are here, they will get you and you will spend the rest of your sad miserable life in prison!”

He pauses. “I just want to say how sorry I am. I didn’t intend to have that kind of relationship with you. It just sort of happened.”

“How does that shit just ‘sort of happen’? Guess what… IT DOESN’T. You knew what you were doing and wanted it to happen every single time you came over to my house. You made my life a living hell on top of the fact that no one believed me. Well, they probably still don’t.  But I need you to stay the hell away from me because you will NOT ruin my good life now!!” Abigail screamed.

“Please just say you forgive me. That’s all I need to move on.”

At that point, Abigail was so infuriated that she picked up one of the decorative rocks on the restaurants fountain and threw it at him, for it to only to break the restaurant window.  The whole restaurant rushed outside to see what was happening. Abigail’s mother ran up to her to ask her what was going on.

“Uncle came to tell me happy birthday and he just made me so angry.” Abigail said to her mother.

“The meds are still getting to you. I told that doctor you didn’t need any more meds now. You are fine. Come one. Lets go inside. I will have to pay for the window too. “ her mother answered.

“Are you kidding me?!!! I just saw him. He spoke to me and apparently just vanished out of thin air when y’all came out here.”

“Honey. I know you didn’t see your uncle because….”

“Because what?!” Abigail said.

“I didn’t want to tell you this until you got better but… the police found your uncle’s body in Sherwood Park right after the kidnapping. He has been dead for months.”

Abigail was incredibly confused and looked away from her mother only to find her uncle across the street waving at her. He ended his wave and vanished into thin air never to be seen again.

Memories

The nurse caught Abigail and returned her to her hospital bed. After hours of interrogation and tons of medical attention, Abigail was allowed to settle back into her hospital bed. After a stable recovery, Abigail was able to return home in the next week and she was forced to stay on bed rest for the next week. While at home, her mother had drastically improved her attitude towards Abigail. She was incredibly attentive and her snappy remarks were nonexistent.

When Abigail was going to bed, her mother would tuck her in. As her mother rubbed her head to fall asleep, Abigail remembered one of her childhood friend, Jasmine’s, mother. Abigail always would go to her house. She had all the best toys and they would play for hours and hours with no interruption. These were the most carefree days of Abigail’s life. She would never want to leave Jasmine and her home because she felt protected and include in a real family. Jasmine’s family would always eat and play together. There would only be laughs exchanged between Jasmine, her parents, and her siblings. Abigail always wanted to have something like that because her parents were the complete opposite. They were cold and inattentive. Since her uncle had started coming over and saying really inappropriate things to her, she had told her parents but they honestly didn’t believe her. Because her parents had not paid any attention to her troubles, she would stay over at Jasmine’s house for hours on end and for nights as well as long as Jasmin’s parents allowed it. Jasmine’s mother would cook them elaborate dinners and yummy desserts along with always saying how much she cared for Abigail. Even with all this love, the best part was when her mom would tuck them in at night. Her mom rubbing her head to fall asleep was when Abigail felt the best. She felt the love and care that she never would receive at home. Jasmine’s mother made Abigail feel important and useful.
As she remembered these moments, Abigail had hope that her mother would change into the parent she wanted her to be. Abigail had hope but would wait and see how this attitude change played out.

Perspective

After hours in the small Intensive Care Unit at the clinic, Abigail slept soundlessly in her hospital bed. Her mother was emotionally drained from the evening and she was sleeping in the hospital room chair next to her daughter. Abigail awoke from her sleep in ca state of confusion.

“How did I end up here? Last I remember I was… watching Lucas in the play. What happened? And why does my body hurt so much?” Abigail thought to herself.

All of a sudden, a young attractive male creeps into her room. In a low whisper, he said “Hey, beautiful. I have come to kidnap you just as we had planned. I have a house and doctor waiting to take care of you. But we must hurry. We can’t wake your devil of a mother up and have her trying to stop us from eloping.”

“WHO ARE YOU?!” Abigail responded.

“Haha funny. Its Otto Vandersloot, your fiancĂ©. Stop playing and let’s go.” And the strange male rips off the IV and such and takes Abigail away.

Otto sneaks out of the back of the clinic, which isn’t hard to do considering all of the needy patients.  Abigail is scared out of her mind and doesn’t know whom this man is or where she is going. She can’t speak a single word given her weak physical state.

Otto eventually ends up in Sherwood Park. Otto drops her on her feet and explains how their get away car should be coming any minute. Otto can’t wait to have who he thinks is Evelyn with him at all times. Sadly, Otto has fallen in love with Evelyn during their late nights dates and long phone conversations. Little does he know, he is one of many boys for Evelyn. As Otto is detailing their fancied new life together, Abigail collects all of her courage and strength and hit him right on the head with a rock. And she hits him again just to be sure she has enough time to run away and get back to the clinic. Abigail runs and miraculously makes it back to the hospital just in time to collapse into the nurse’s arms.
